My 13 week old Welsummer pullet is acting "not quite right" today and I was wondering if anyone had any advice.

I noticed a mound of diarrhea in the coop this morning and then saw that my Welsummer was just sitting in the dirt, alert, but just sitting there, while the other chicks ate. I let them all out in the yard while I did my chicken duties and again, she just sat in the grass while everyone else pecked and scratched around. I did see her make one diarrhea poo when I first let them out. Now I've got her inside in a cage to rest. I gave her a scrambled egg, which she ate, and a bit of water with apple cider vinegar (she took a sip, but didn't seem to like it).

While in the cage, she made a solid, bloody poo. It's got the look of an intestinal shed, but it's SOLID. I couldn't pull it apart when I picked it up in a paper towel. Any idea of what that could be? Should I assume it's worms and give her (and the rest, for that matter) some dewormer? I've got a bottle of Wazine here.

Hi, Tiny529. I found this link that may help you. It also contains an external link that has a page of poo pictures. There is one picture that contains blood and is specific to coccidiosis. I have it bookmarked, because I think it is very useful. I also found these pictures and post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/605384/cocci-or-shed-intestinal-lining. I wish you luck with your pullet. Good luck, Tiny!
