Hello, I'm new here and need a little help.Yesterday, I purchased 6 chicks from the local Atwoods. Four of them are straight runner regular chicks, and two are Bantems.Of the two Bantems I have a very small black one which i believe to be a black rosecomb.Anyways, this little guy sleeps constantly. It can walk fine when awake,it just seems to have a very bad case of narcolepsy.I have been reading up on the forums about the sugar water and such, but is there really a need for concern? He doesnt limp and pips every now and again. Also the others kind of run him over.Do i need to seperate him? Oh the bedding is dried leaves,i just put down to keep thier feet dry,and the others like it,fresh water,Manna pro medicated crumbles,a stick to perch and a heat lamp with the temp at 95 degrees.

What kind of leaves?
Using outside leaves means that they might be mouldy or rotting...
Or they might have chemicals on them.

For chicks most of us use paper towels for the grip.

Bedding comes after they can walk around a bit better and know what the food is.

How old are the chicks?

Does the little black one look like he's fluffed up? He could be cold.

Have you noticed him eating?

Are they getting a draft?

Still acting like hes sleepy.Dont know if it helps, but the others keep running over him.
