Listless Chick?

Alright so they're here!!! OMG, cuteness abounds! One out of the four seems to be listless, kind of lying on it's side and closing it's eyes. I'm new to this so maybe she's sleepy? The others are walking around pecking at stuff, it seems like there is something wrong. How can I tell for sure? What should I be watching for?

Make sure that ALL of the new babies know where the water is and where the food is. Take the unhappy one and dip it's beak in the water. Check it's pooper to see if anything is hanging or hard there and if it is rip it off now, with the hairs and all. That will keep the hairs from making it stick again.

Most likely if they are brand new babies they are sleeping. They can fall asleep right in the middle of doing something, I mean they put their face right into the bedding and their out.

If the little guy doesn't start getting around with the others real soon then you need to do a deep examination of him and may need to isolate him from the bunch for a couple of weeks.

Please be careful with the bum. If there is pooh stuck on it ripping it off could cause internal damage. Best to wash the bum with warm water and a cloth. Good luck hope it gets better.

Poor thing was just trying to sleep I think.

I feel like a panicky new mom all over again...except these babies have fuzzy bums. Cutest thing ever.

I recently got 6 baby chicks to add to our brood.. and got rid of my Roo (Very sad face, but he wasn't nice to my kids).. Anyhow.. we got 2 buff orps, 2 RR, and 2 black sex links.. one of the blk sex links is really listless.. this is day 2 and she is just laying there.. I put her beak in the water, in the food, and checked her bum.. but it is just non stop sleeping at one point I went in there and thought she was dead.. laying on her side legs straight out.. so I picked her up and put her in front of the water.. She took a good 4 or 5 drinks.. Is there anything else I can do??.. I have yet to see her eat.. Please help? I hate to think this poor chick is just starving to death..
