Listless hen

They get a lettuce or corn cob treat in the morning to share. I feed them the same chicken feed they've had since they started laying. They are all a year old in july. I don't know of anything new in their diet. Everyone else is fine
Feeding treats, like lettuce and especially corn, daily is not good. Feeding treats like that takes away from them getting a balanced diet which leads to problems.
Please rethink feeding treats daily before more birds become ill.

One of my Rhode Island Reds was just standing at the door this morning, i stated petting her and she had no response, I set her out, she didn't move, I held her, her craw seems bloated. She layed down by a dish of lettuce and isn'tt eating. Closing her eyes. Help
I just watched a video about sour crop. He breast feels like it fluid filled and that's how the gal described her chicken. She used Monistat 7 1/2 ml 2x a day for 3 days to get rid of the yeast infection. Does anyone know anything about that?

epsom salts bath - how much salt to water?
Only give her Epsom salt bath to calm her if she is egg bound. You need to gently put you pinky (gloved and with a gel lub or Vaseline type thing) and see if you feel egg pieces or an egg that's stuck. . google chicken anatomy so you know what to expect. And google how to help an egg bound chicken it will give a better description than I can. But having done it if the egg is in there you will probably feel it within an inch or so.

Also both poo and the egg come out but from different tracks, I think if she's egg bound you'll feel if fairly immediately more upward than downward. But google chicken anatomy so you know where to look. Good luck to you both let us know.....
