This afternoon I found my Derpster sick, laying across a perch with her wings hanging down and her head flopped down listlessly. She didn't struggle when I picked her up at all... not her normal behavior. She normally flaps her wings and chirps loudly at the indignity of being handled... then tries to bite my chin tilting her big polish fro back and forth so she can peek up at me. Today... she just draped her head across my chest limply.
I brought her into the house and put her in the dog crate, covered her up with a towel and am giving her a little while to rest. I'm going to give her some fluids in a little while. I felt her all over and she felt very thin, although just a week ago she felt fine! her crop feels empty but firm... blockage? any other reason she would have suddenly stopped eating? What can I do??
No one else seems sick. But the weather has been unnaturally wet thanks to a large number of thunderstorms that have come through so we do have a ton of mosquitoes and other bugs. Could that have done anything?
