Litter for chicks

Does this look ok for chick litter? Wondering if it would be better when they are ready for the coop. No cedar, it's chipped trees and shrubs. I'd remove the sticks. We are getting 4 3 day old chicks next weekend and are prepping their brooder...

It looks ok, however if it is hardwood chips, if it gets wet, the fungus resulting may cause health problems.
That's why pine shavings are recommended.
