I'm a new chicken mama and we are getting. Ready to move our girls to their new coop...

I would like suggestions on little methods and why? We are using pine shavings right now but are considering the sand method in the coop/run??? I've read about using industrial type sand and not sand box sand?? Please help! I want the easiest but cleanest method possible:). Thanks so much!!

open that link, scroll down the page and watch the 9 minute video on the deep litter method. it doesn't get explained and demonstrated any better than beekissed did in the video. It's easy, provides great compost (if you choose to use it for that) gives the chickens something to dig and scratch around in......

I've read a lot of good things about sand, but I've read just as many, if not more, bad things and how many have regretted putting it in their run.
