My BR just laid her first egg, kind of. It was only a half shell, almost rubbery, but there evidently was a yolk inside because it was in the nesting material. I brought the shell in to examine it. At first I thought it collapsed, but on closer inspection, the edge of the shell was rolled over. She seemed to be fine because after she laid the egg, she was back out there with the other girls walking around.
From what I can figure, they are only between 17 to 20 weeks old. They have been on layena since we got them (we were told they were older than they actually were) and I keep oyster shell grit in their yard. They get wormed once a month and a little vitamin once a month. Is there anything else I should be doing?
Thanks for any advice.
