Our little Bantam, Ester, is being mean to some other of our chicks she won't bite but she will jump, squak, and chase them. Does anyone know how to stop this? Do you think she'll just grow out of it? Also she gets really dirty when the rest stay clean is she sick?

Is the meany a chick or older bird? Chicks are working out pecking order from early days. When new birds are introduced to the flock, or the chicks integrated with older birds this continues again. Actually if meany isn't biting anyone, there no reason for concern.

they're probably just trying to figure out the pecking order. If she draws blood you need to separate the injured chicken from the rest of the flock to prevent further injury to that chicken.

Chickens start working out the pecking order as soon as they exit the egg - what you describe is normal chicken behavior. As long as she is not drawing blood, all is normal. Welcome to BYC.
