Little black chick has bald puffy soft spot on his back by shoulder

anyone know what that might be?
it is definately bald, no down there,
and soft and rounded...
on his back, near his neck, to the right side.

how old is the chick. does it appear to be in any pain? where exactly is the bald spot?

Yes, will get a pic when I get home, I'm sure that will help...
he/she is a 3 days old, and is a Maran....
and it does not appear to hurt him or her at all.

No, I hatched it myself, from an egg I got from a man in Louisiana.
It was shipped.
I wonder if it is the back of his crop?
I don't know.
I couldn't get a good pic of it...
I'll try again tonight...
chick is doing fine it seems..

I had one hatch out like that and it was just a cyst that went away in a few days.

i honestly can't think of anything that's wrong with him. just keep the bald spot from getting too dry maybe? are his brood mates picking on him? if otherwise he appears to be a happy healthy chick i think you're in the safe zone. just watch him a bit and if it looks like he's got less energy or acting sickly, separate him from the others and keep him warm and safe.

idk, that just my opinion.
