This is Little Blue, my blue Plymouth rock (cross between an Andalusian and a barred rock), who I bought early this spring as a started pullet from some reputable local folks who buy large numbers of hatchery chicks and raise them to sell. She started out seeming completely normal at 4-5 weeks, but then all of a sudden started to look "crooked" at about 2 months old. At first I thought it was wry tail, but as she grew it became clear that her whole pelvis is crooked (right side looks and feels much higher than the left). I'm not sure if the issue is genetic or if she was somehow injured without anyone noticing. I was really worried about her for awhile, but then she started laying eggs right around 23 weeks old and doesn't seem to have any laying issues so far (fingers crossed). She runs around and does all the things a normal chicken should do, so we are just letting her be her wonky self. She runs with a bit of a swagger and has a huge floppy comb, so she is especially funny to watch. Has anyone else had a chicken with this kind of deformity?
