It was a "hatchery surplus" deal, 120 chicks for 50 bucks and some change, more than 50 were red sex-link roosters though, 25-30 was roosters and hens of what's pictured and then the rest were JG and RSL hens, they didn't send a list of breeds included though so that's why I didn't know about what the one pictured are

He looks like Freedom Rangers. If his legs are yellow I vote for that.

He looks like a wheaten marans and a cuckoo marans cross. He appears to be a birchen/ wheaten heterozygote (no wing bay) and carries one barring gene. He carries a silver and a gold allele- that is why he has all the straw color in the hackles. The red shoulder does not mean he is gold- the red shoulder is caused by autosomal red.

He has the white legs of a Marans.

If he were a buff orpington and a barred rock cross his head, breast and back would be more of a solid silver/straw color. That is if the buff orpington was pure bred that was used in the cross.

He looks like he is a second or third generation bird in golden cuckoo project.

Thanks! Extremely informative! Btw, what part of missouri are you from? I used to live up by joplin, in that area anyway! Send me a PM if you're from around there!

If he's really as meaty as a Cornish Cross (and he does look it!), maybe it's some variety of colored meat bird.
