1) What type of bird , age and weight.
chicken - bout a week after hatching

2) What is the behavior, exactly.
very lethargic, acts like it cannto get its breath

3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
yesterday seemed slow, thought it was just tired, this morning started noticing something wrong

4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No, other 2 chicks seem fine and running around.

5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
no

6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
nothing that I can think of

7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
well i have been throwing in the pen old scraps, same stuff i give all the chickens.

8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
havent seen any yet put it in a box and put it in the shed. took an eye dropper and tried to give it water.

9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
just trying to give it water.

10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
cannot afford a vet. just want to do what is right and i am new at this.

11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
got the picture but dont know how to get it here

12) Describe the housing/bedding in use
it is in with the mother, 2 siblings, straw bed and desert run

thank you so much.

when we have them at work like what you are describing, we beleive they have gotten a wood shaving piece in the the mouth, and it is blocking the breathing. Have no clue past that of how to help.

Hope another person that has more expereince comes on to help! Good luck:)

Thank you so much for your reply. I will just try to keep it going with water and keep it warm for now. Thank you.

after a day alone in the house with me the little chick seemed much perkier. I took it out yesterday and put it back in with the others. it runs around seems fine however it looks like it has a baloon in its chest. I think it may have a piece of something stuck in its top part of its chest. i looked at a chicken anatomy picture and if it got say a piece of canned corn stuck it there do you think it will ever digest it? I did put a can of corn on the ground for them because i did not know what to feed them and i was afraid they needed something good. kinda stupid huh!

It's probably his/her crop. They look really big on chicks when they're small. Watch and see if it goes down overnight - it should be empty in the morning after a night of sleeping/digesting.

I don't think you can give them grit when they are that young can you?
