that was a hoot, similar to how fond my boyfriend has grown to 'our' african grey parrot. shes his girl. the chickens are my babies

My husband was the one who decided we should get a few chickens. He arranged for everything and makes frequent trips to the feed store and pet store for special items they "need". . . like we now have four different size/style waterers for 3 chickens. LOL

He's even trained one of the girls to jump up on his lap.

Hey, don't underestimate chickens! Just today I had one jump in my car when I was about to pull out the driveway. So I snapped a photo with my phone. Evidence:

My friends and coworkers just don't understand how I can be so fascinated with them, but I mean...come on??!!! Who can say they've had a chicken try to ride in the car with you to work?

That's me all the way. I have a chick buried out back. I knew he wasn't going to make it when the guy at TSC said I could have him and try...he was in bad shape. Four great days. ^_^ I loved my Beepers. I love all my birds!

When I open the gate to the property where I live, my dominant rooster begins to crow. By the time I am through the gate and closing it again behind my car, the flock is rounding the corner of the house and heading down the driveway toward the car. So far, they've been able to avoid getting run over (of course, that's because I drive really slowly so they can get out of the way) and as soon as I park and open the car door, the senior flock members - and the Cayuga drake - have all crowded in between the open door and body of the car.
