So I am up for an early AM feeding with my son. I jump on here quickly and what do I do, start laughing my butt off in the front room of a VERY quiet house. I freaking love it!!!!!

Thats what I thought when reading this thread! And then the cuteness factor of the man falling in love with chickens filled me with warm fuzzies. <3
That price is NOT out of line if you are getting chicks from good lines.
My husband didn't want any thing to do with the chicks its my project he said. We have a great Dane, Sheppard and St Bernard mix he is 135 lbs
he follows my husband around if he stops floyd bumps into him. We also have many other animals also. My husbands does not want any thing else following him around but he was down stairs
checking the chicks out and yelled at me to clean the water out. he is hooked.
my husband indulged my 'passion for chickens' in the beginning, replying to my giddy proclamations of irresistible cuteness with the standard patronization "that's nice hun". Things changed when I brought home the last dozen of assorted day old chicks from our local feed store. Arriving at the feed store just as they received their shipment of new chicks, when the lids were taken off of the crates it was a grand buffett of baby chick cuteness. Silver Wyandotts, Rhode island Reds, Brown Leghorns and many more ! Who would of thought that the 2 black sex links would be the ones that would catch my husbands eye and inevitably steal the affections of my husbands heart. They are now a week old and my husband who previously payed no attention to the whole chic process is now infatuated with these 2 lil black chics, carrying them around the house, watching TV with them and suffers separation anxiety when it is time to put them to bed. Go Figure
Shakey, well written! You wanted quality birds, you paid a quality price. The best part about buying from this breeder is that you now have a mentor to guide with the showing and breeding of your chickens. "Little Chicken Coffins."
Oh, this story is too cute! Should I ever get married, I sure hope I have a husband like that someday! Thank you for sharing, it really made me chuckle and smile.
I think there's something about guys and Jersey Giants...some sort of magnetism there! My 6'1" brother is barely involved with my poultry hobby (despite my attempts at luring him in), but whenever I talk about what chickens I'm planning on hatching or keeping, he tries to talk me into Jersey Giants! I tell him if he buys them, I'll take care of them.
