Hey guys I wounder if you can help me I keep ducks but this little guy/girl was found dumped in a supermarket carpark cold and wet at only a few weeks old whats everyone's thoughts on rooster vs hen and breed? I'd say approx 6/7 weeks now but I'm completely guessing im wondering if a brahma im edging towards rooster with being dumped. Thanks in advance everyone xx

doesn’t look like a cockerel to me. But it does look like it fell off a truck. It could be a broiler chicken. Not sure about the feathered feet though.

I think it is maybe a feed store quality Cochin? Doesn’t look like a broiler to me. It’s not fat, just fluffy! 😂 without knowing the age I don’t know if it’s a pullet or cockerel.

It looks cochin like to me, but it does look like it may not be feeling well. If it's around 6 to 7 weeks old, my guess would be pullet. But I am very new at chickens, so I may be wrong. Is it eating and drinking okay and having normal poops? Poor thing has had a rough start to life! You are so great to rescue it and help it recover!

Good job rescuing the chick. If you hadn't intervened it wouldn't have stood a chance.

For gender, so far it looks like a pullet. But if it wasn't taken care of properly before you became involved, it could show delayed development and be a male. I think it will take a while longer to know for sure.

Breed is maybe a feed store white Cochin, but it could be some kind of mix as well.

Thank you it's hard to give an age not knowing much about chickens but it's growing well and eating and drinking great very friendly little thing x

It's hard to know the age with us finding it it's definitely only young it is a good eater and that pick it'd just fluffed it's feathers up has a crazy colour 5o the feathers at the minute x

I definitely don't think it's a Brahma, it doesn't look quite right. Good on you for saving him/her ,it's so cruel to just dump your unwanted animals:tongue
