Little eyes matted shut?

I have a little one and it's eyes are matting shut. I have been cleaning them and putting some cool coffee in em after a while they are shut again. I noticed this morning they are getting red around them. I know as little ones they tend to peck at everthing including each others eyes. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and what I need to do, much ablidged if you would.

I just had this happen to a chick myself. I went down to the ranch supply store and got a tube of terrimycin eye ointment. Worked great
