Little flecks in eggs

My friend has noticed little reddish flecks in the egg whites. Does anyone know what it means and if the eggs are ok to eat?

Ive read its just some material from the hen and does not affect the egg

They are bloodspots, nothing to worry about and the eggs are safe to eat.

She thought it may be a sign of red mites. Do you know anything about those?

It has nothing to do with red mites. Red mites are an external pest and will live on your birds skin and in their bedding and wood coop.
