Little fuzzy visitor

He may have had buddies! Maybe you could have gotten a few of them for your coat.

They are so cute and very curious... and blood thirsty. The cute face is a mask for the killer lurking underneath. I know this, but I still feel bad when I have to remove them. Because they are so darn cute!

I agree it may have buddies.Young mink often stay with the mom for at least a year.So thats like maybe 6-10 running together. They are very beautiful animals. And the sounds they make "talking" to each other are amazing. But don't let that fool you, look at its teeth. They are made for tearing and eating.I'm not sure if you said you re-located it or what. But that is a bad idea for a mink. That one was young and they always live in very close family groups. If it was to be caught away from its own family it doesn't have a chance.Even if you don't know how to make even a hat from it I'm sure there is some young taxidermist near by that would love the chance to work with it.I love my birds but I also hate to waste something as cool as a mink.Pay it forward.

Just please be cautious of the "country" you deposit him in. We are having a terrible problem with relocated live trapped predators out where I live. Lost my very sweet hen Diva two nights ago. I think I will now take my kayak and relocate what I live trap to a lovely rock far off shore.

Yeah, that. Some poor soul who lives in the country now will have to deal with a trap savy predator who can go and kill their small livestock. Please NEVER relocate.

I caught a small one years ago in a live trap and kept it that winter before leaving it go in spring.Thought I had rats in the basement but only this mink.It tamed up nicely.Even to the point of handeling it to some extent.I actually considered having it descented and keeping it but of course I didn't have chickens then.

I sure wish I had a video of the first time I gave it a crayfish...........after the first one it learned to grab the tail first.

Minks are killers for sure....will reak havoc in a chicken coop and possibly kill all them.
