Little Giant 10300

This is my setup. I know the thermostat that it came with is accurate because I use that spot check one and they both display the same numbers when both are right next to each other... I just think there is not enough air movement in the bator...
That spot check is a great idea! I'm gonna have to do some researching on that. Where would I get one of those? Are they expensive?

@InvisionFirst think I would pull out those red plugs in the top. I have had 40 % less eggs make it to lockdown with the plugs in.
I put my clear plastic sensor almost on the turner motor. (I will post pics soon). I try to have the temp at the top of the egg around 101.5. I have a brinsea spot check and an accurite digital. They both read the same. My temp varies up too 1.5 degrees from the front to back.

I agree about the lid not fitting well. I lay my candling flashlight and a glass jar on top to add some weight. It seems to help

Well after talking with the eBay user I bought my incubator from "coopsnmore" they sold me the incubator with "FAN" (what they failed to mention in the description was that it was a knockoff of the manufacturer).....

I'm ****** right now but I went out and bought me a 60mm fan to replace the cheapo whatever you want to call it with an actual computer fan... This thing they installed was as thick as 4 quarters stacked and I could barely feel anything... it might as well of been a still air. I had a temp of 104 by the glass and 96 on the bottom.....

when I get home i'll make the change of fans for the third time (only takes me a minute to do it) and place my thermostat near the turner motor like you said. I'm so ****** right now I can barley focus.

Not to bring you guys down, but I tried my first hatch with a very similar LG. I had the exact same results. I think the chicks were drowning, too, but from high humidity the first 18 days, and intermittent temperature swings. Not enough evaporation early on to develop a large enough air sack. I was so agravated that I waited until I could afford a more expensive incubator. There are people on here that have amazing hatch rates with styrofoam, but if you work long hours and can't babysit your incubator, there are some extremely reliable incubators for a little more than a forced air styrofoam. I bought a Brinsea 20 Advance, and it is so rock solid that I would be totally confident using the Eco model that is a good bit cheaper. If you plan on hatching multiple batches, it would be worth the extra money, and much, much easier to clean than styrofoam

the above was the so-called fan that was installed in my incubator I've replaced it with the new fan that I bought at the computer store and the temperature stabilized in less than a minute all around there is not one cold spot in the entire incubator. That company responded again telling me that 98 degrees steady was an acceptable temperature for hatching birds... he's dumb

Well I have a wood stove in my house and i keep my bator at 60% to 63% and my last hatch I had 18 fertile and 15 made it to lock down but I dropped a rack and killed 5 babies... was a pretty rough day... My house is only at 45% humidity so I need to keep the eggs a little more damp or they will dry out in a day... Just running my incubator with no water the humidity was at 14% for 3 days prior to egg setting...

Has anyone figured out the reason for the plastic film under the thermostat. I mean it takes up a quarter of the incubator practically... I've placed that Spot Check under the thermostat and had almost a degree in temperature difference... I think the design of it was intended for use without egg turners because I've had to free mine up on a couple of occasions...
