We were doing Chicks, the temp was 100.5 still air and humidity rate was right aroung 50%, sometimes would jump to 70-80%. I am getting ready to put muscovy duck eggs in hatching incubator tomorrow. I really hope i can hatch these guys. So far only one chick has hatched and is doing amazing. Any suggestions. Yes vents are open.

Just borrowed what I believe is the 9300 and has an auto turner. The turner is making a slight buzzing sound and I am not sure it is actually turning the eggs. Matter of fact I know it isn't. What do I need to do? Just plugged it in tonight and already has the icon saying its ready. I put 5 eggs in there and now noticing it isn't turning. What to do!!!???

Have you seen one working before? They only slightly tilt. At first you can't really tell it's moved.

Hello everyone I'm new to the whole hatching world and bought a little giant incubator from a girl at a yard sale. I bought a new hygrometer to make sure my incubator digital screen was reading correctly, which it wasn't...yikes! So my incubator was set and held a temp of 100 and my humidity was set and stayed between 45-55. However my hatching was not successful and I am heartbroken. Should my humidity or temperature been different? I had a person state to me they didn't add water til the last three days, is that what any of you have done?

I've got duck eggs in now.  Two hatched yesterday (day 26) I'm not going to blame the incubator though because I have three mercury thermometers. I don't even look at the hygrometer on the unit anymore.  I have three digital for that.  I hear ya about the dreaming.  I want to get a Genesis Hovabator and then upgrade to Brinsea.

What temp and humidity do you have your incubator on for your duck eggs?

and the world of hatching. Sorry to read your hatch didn't go well. What kind of eggs? Did you candle along the way? Yes, you do need to raise the humidity/add water just before hatching.

What temp and humidity do you have your incubator on for your duck eggs?

I let it run around 30-40 and then when I see my first internal pip I keep the humidity low 80 to 70

Thanks for the replies. I was trying to hatch some Easter Egger eggs. At the time of collecting it was cold and I don't think many of them were fertile. Right now I am incubating 28 duck eggs and 9 chicken eggs (brown no green). My humidity has not gotten above 40, and I have these in a Little Giant 9300 forced heat air fan. My temp is ranging from 99-101. Today is day four and so far what I am seeing is promising. My last batch the egg shells were so dark, or most of them were, that no matter what light I used it was hard to see but I candles day 10, 14, and 18. All the eggs I have now are light enough I can see easily. I think it was a mixture of non fertile eggs and humidity to high. I also made sure to recalibrate my hygrometer before putting this batch in the incubator. I also plan to shift the eggs in the incubator on day 8 or 10 from outside in to ensure all are getting accurate temperature. I am dry incubating right now
