I just rec'd my first bator as a bday gift. I have it and the temp is at 99-100 but the humidity is only 54%, how do we raise it? I read it has to be at 86%, so how do we make it go up or down? Ive read my manual and it doesnt say.

Ive got eggs to put into it, and waiting on it to be ready.

I got my humidity/temp readings off a broody hen and that is how we run our little giant with very good results.

Her readings were
50-52% humidity 1-18
Her temps were 101 all the way through.
After day 18 humidity under her went up slightly 59%-64%.
When chicks began hatching she raised up slightly off the nest to vent some of the humidity out.

To raise humidity, you can do this:

Get a sponge or washcloth soaked with warm water. Put it on a small plate, and stick it in the incubator.
