I asked where you are because local conditions affect humidity needed in the incubator. If you are in a really humid area, you may not need it as high as others.

Is the 63 percent humidity going to drown my little ducks....the incubator reads 39-40 I don't have a wet bulb...I have a digital themometer that says 63 percent.

Humidity is based on surface area of the water, not the amount. Think of it this way, 8 ounces of water in a tall thin champagne glass will produce alot LESS humidity than 8 ounces of water in a bowl, spread out.

You dont have to use the channels in the incubator, you can use bowls, cups, and even sponges to adjust to get it just right. Put them in areas where you can get to the with a straw thru a vent hole, then you never have to open it to re-wet them.

You will need to consider lockdown separately, because you don't want open bowls that the babies can get into and drown, but through incubation, find a combination that gets it where you want it.

will this 63 percent kill my ducks I don't need to open it cause it is the first day

I personally wouldn't incubate at 63%. I prefer 30-35% for duck eggs.
Watch your air cells. They need to grow, and usually humidity that high will not allow proper air cell growth.

well it is so confusing because my incubator reads 30- 40 percent
and that digital reads 63 and I almost don't have any water...would you open the incubator and dry it out when the eggs have only been put in in the last 6 hours

I would pull the extra digital hygrometer and test its accuracy. See whether it is closer to right than the unit is. You need to know which one to go by!

Look up hygrometer salt test. Its easy and accurate.
