How do I hatch eggs without an egg turner without ruining the temps and humidity?

I've never hatched eggs before. Chicken eggs. Someone want to give me a very quick basic run down? Day one do this, day whatever do that?

is that too much to ask? lol... I dont know what iam asking you to do

Also, any feedback on the little giant?

I incubate in paper egg cartons and then lay the eggs on the side to hatch in the bottom of the bator. It makes turning much faster so you don't waste as much heat or humidity

I started with a LG but quickly graduated to something more stable and predictable.

This is what I have figured out:

1. Put a new knob on it! This was the last thing I got around to doing, and it has made the biggest difference. I just glued a big button on top, but they say if you do to Wal Mart you can get a light dimmer switch that fits it perfectly.

2. Keep it in a spot with a stable temperature.

3. Dont make big adjustments, and once you get it right leave it alone. It is VERY sensitive, that is why the bigger know helps.

4. Get a new thermometer. I use a $6 Springfield from wal mart. It is not the best, but if you calibrate it with one you know is good, it should be fine.

5. Let it run in place for at LEAST a day at the temp you want it before you put eggs in it.

6. After you fill it up with eggs, leave it alone untill it gets back up to the right temperature, at least another day. It will take a long time to heat up the eggs.

I have a newer still air LG without the egg turner.
I set it up and pluged it in. Let it set for a day and then filled it up with eggs.

It quickly reached 100 degrees and has sat there. No movement up or down except when I turn the eggs. After turning it quickly reaches 100 again.

I have not had one single problem at all.

The humidity does go up and down but stays within an acceptable range.

Good luck!!
