Here is one of my broody's and some of her chicks. 10 eggs out of 12 hatched.

I love the buffs--cute chicks!! Watchful mom.

Well, I got 4/5 of the local eggs to hatch. The one that didn't...the shell was...weird. Thick, knobby. I didn't have high hopes. All are black chicks, very cute.

I held RH at 58%, temp at 99-100, for the hatcher.

So I CAN hatch in an LG. Local eggs anyway! LOL

I have 6 eggs, shipped, going to lockdown tomorrow.

I want a broody!

Good job!!! Shipped eggs are always a gamble. Some shipped eggs hatch better than others. Many factors. Shipping is hard on the eggs too. GOOD LUCK with the shipped eggs going into lockdown.

Where is your fan installed at??

Who needs help with fans?

Most LG models available at the feed stores are sold with out a fan. If you choose to install one, either buy the kit or make one using peices from an old computer ( PC fan) or buy a PC fan at Radio shack; and wire it to an adaptor. Takes a little work and care ( electricity can be dangerous) but even I did it without any previous knowledge about wiring.

THe LG still works well; I like the fan to help dry the chicks.
