I clean my bottom tray with soapy water. Top, with heat element, with a spray bottle with rub alcohol. Then sit in Texas sun all day. Seems to work well.

Quote: Humitidy ran high for a couple days -- over 70%, then fell to 50's. Added more water along the bottom as LG is on a slant and i can fill a little on bottom, too
If I might suggest. If this is a total bust, get local fresh eggs, even if only 6 and we will walk you thru the next incubation-- deal??I will candle tonight. ..nothing yetThis will be my 3rd hatch failure. 45 eggs -6 of which were local and the rest were shipped.![]()
I'm having trouble hatching eggs .out of 2 batches Nothing 80 some eggs.today I started a new batch .i filled the tray with water ,put the egg turner in ,filled with eggs, got the temp up to 99.5 .what am I doing wrong? This batch the last 3 day I will take out the turner and put in (2 jars with a sponge ) which I haven't done before and not open the lid. Please reply keith
I am thinking my failure is related to humidity. No fan and stayed steady at 102. Auto turner tooHave you been candling along the way? Just curious how far along in the hatch you are losing them. If they are dying early, maybe your thermometer isnt reading correctly. If they are making it fullterm, but dont hatch, chances are your humidity has been wrong for most of your hatch. I am by no means an expert, but usually do ok with my LG as long as i monitor humidity and temp closely throughout my hatch. I bet there are lots of people here to help.![]()
What I mean is conquor hatching unshipped eggs, THEN go for the shipped eggs.@Arielle yes I am done with shipped eggsmy last hatch I had 2 of my own hatch. I made sure temps stayed up, 2 thermometers, auto turner was purchased...6 were local and looked good at last candling. ..I thought for sure this would be the one that would make me crazy with too many chicks.![]()
Quote: IAF is spot on.
If no fan , then temp of 102 ON TOP of the eggs is correct.
