Little Giant incubator...

The point about basements ... spiders and all ... is the temperature stability.

Provided it is not too cold, incubators work much better with stable ambient temps. (well the cheaper ones do because of the nature of their temp. controllers)

My basement temp goes down very very low - with the freezing weather - the bator just can\\'t keep up the heat.

That would be quite common, I would think.

I kinda like ours in the living room or kitchen

I have 3 LG's with turners and fans. If I had to do it again I'd buy the Hovabator
MissPrissy is suggesting.

The LG's are fine for the money. You just need to stay on top of them and learn
their quirks. There are plenty of LG threads here if you do a search and your
homework.

I will totally buy a hova next year if I hatch again. I have a lg still air that I got for $40 at my local farm store because I didn't have time to wait for a hova to get here (speaking of which-could I move the eggs mid cycle?). The lg is ok, but it's just ok.

Yes ... it's quite common to do that.

Run both alonside each other and make sure temp and humidity are ok .... then just move them

Often, when people are using weight loss calculations, eggs are moved to incubators with lower or higher humidity as appropriate.
