Little Giant Lockdown question

Has anyone figured out what to do with the thermometer from the LG during Lockdown? The one with the wires hanging down and large plastic square.

I have tried taping up the extra length, but leaving it on what was eggs still ends up with chicks caught. They have been able to pull it down, and if they don't get tangled they sit on it.

If anyone else is searching for this I will answer my own question. I was able to tape it to the top between the heater and electrical box tight to the plastic but still on the wires. That way it hung vertically with the bottom where the egg tops would be. This time the chicks did not get it down.
