So I have a new colossus since the first one passed away but I didn't have the heart to break my sons little heart and this one is really funny. She "plays dead." She's a leaner. Shell hop right into my hand and lean far over to one side till she's laying down (on her side) and close her eyes. It looks like she's dead. But as soon as I say little miss she's back up and cruising along my hand. Is this normal? She's the sweetest little thing.

Our chicks (various breeds) would do the lean-to-one-side and kick out the leg opposite of the side they were leaning on. They do this only occasionally now that they're laying, and mostly when they are sunning themselves. Unless your chick is trying to tell you she's cold (by jumping in your hand, presuming your hand is warm), it doesn't seem abnormal.
