Little one with wheeze with every breath and sneezes

I have a 6 month old silkie who is wheezing with every breath and what sounds like a squeak when she coughs. I have tylan 50 injectible, I plan to give her that. Am I right to give her Tylan?

She is the only one in my flock with this problem, and I just noticed it today. I have her inside (she's wearing a diaper) and she is acting fine other than the wheeze.

Could she have just caught a bug or should I be more concerned?

If it just started today, I'd probably give it another day to see if it's just something caught in her throat. If it continues another day, then I'd try the tylan. When I treated for respiratory issues, I bought insulin needles from a pharmacy because I wanted the smallest I could find. I bought 1/2 inch, 28 guage. Alternate breasts for three days. But hopefully it'll clear up by tomorrow...

thank you! I gave her some bread with oil on it and she seems to be getting a little better. I also put a diaper on her which seemed to stop the wheeze (odd I know). She seems to be getting her voice back.

i have a 3 wk old that was sneezing tonight and kind of "cackles" while breathing as well. She only sneezed 3 times and the "cackle" was only noticable for a little while...


hope that both of ours just has something in their throats/nose

I dont know if she had something caught or if it was a respiratory illness but I gave her the tylan 50 for 3 days and she is fine now.
