Nerding out a little this morning. I got little eggs from both Australorp pullets yesterday, #3 and 4 so far, I also had 2 massive eggs from the Golden comets, thought it would be fun to fry up the itty bitty eggs next to a big egg (suspected it was double yolk), I was shocked when one of the little eggs also dropped out two yolks!!!

I got a 63 gram egg from one of my BAs yesterday. If today's is as big, maybe she went from small eggs to almost extra large. Or it could be a double yolker. Either way, my hubby gets it for Saturday breakfast. She only started laying on August 2nd!

BAs are wonderful. :D

I hadn't thought of weighing them! The three huge eggs I have remaining from the Golden Comets are: 89g, 93g, and 99g!

Chickens are awesome!!!

I bought a digital kitchen scale for weighing baking ingredients. Now I use it to weigh eggs. I put a small rubber band on the weighing platform and put the eggs in the middle of that so they can't roll off.
