That duck is a good find - with the plush buddy he always does have someone to snuggle up with. That's great your other clutch will be hatching soon - I definitely would try to introduce one of the new babies with Sanda. As you say Sanda is so tiny - it could work

They'd both have to stay inside but at the very least he'd have company, and another duck to bond with!

Meet Varan! He and Sanda seem to be getting along just fine, not sure what color call duck he'll end up being any thoughts?

Regarding size they should be a good match - I'm very glad to hear Sanda and Varan seem to get along, hopefully they will bond fast

Unfortunately it didn't last very long, Varan and two of the other ducklings from the brood died this morning. No signs of disease, not injury for that matter but I've made sure to keep Sanda alone and monitored him closely. I'm hesitant to put any of the remaining ducklings with him now, though he seems alright by himself for the time being, as long as I'm in the room of course haha

I fully understand you don't want to risc anything and are keeping Sanda alone now. It could have been the shipping stress but it could also have been something else...better be careful.
So sad.
Thankfully Sanda is alright and happy when you are there

I actually ended up reintroducing one of his original brood into his new house, and surprisingly they get along now, I'll keep this up and see how it goes although Gaira, his housemate is an early bloomer and is getting her big girl voice in. You can imagine the joy of a scared girl call duck screaming for you across the house hahaha, but I love them. The other new arrivals are all doing great so far, so i have no idea what it could've been at this stage, maybe shipping stress like you said

So far she's settling in just fine, she isn't too thrilled about being diapered but she's just as sweet as Sanda is, funny enough they both have the same habit of wanting to sleep on my shoulder
