Little Silkie, is she or isn't she a full Silkie? Can you tell me....

This is Carlotta, DOB 6/1/09 - as per the breeder, do you think she is all Silkie or mixed? I love her to pieces, she's like a little doll, but kind of UGLY...... is she supposed to be missing feathers around her neck like that?I thought the other ones were picking on her, but they seem to be kind of mothering her......I have 12 total, all the same age, she's the smallest

She looks 100% silkie to me! Silkies go through an "ugly duckling" stage were they are really ugly, with their black skin and patches of feathers. She might just be a late bloomer, that would explain why she still has a bare spot on her neck and why she is smaller then the rest. Either that, or is it possible that she's on the bottom of the pecking order and not getting enough feed?

She looks like she is just young and maube still feathering in. How old is she - looks just like my young silkies, they are about 7 weeks old now. And, they are going through their Uglies at the moment too.

She's about 7 weeks, ad I think she is on the bottom of the peck list, I feel like pushing everyone out of the way and hand feeding her mealworms, but they get so pushy!!!
THanks, I'm glad she's 100% looking, and just going thru that phase....
