I'm not sure if the 3 pictures are going to show I'm not very good at this. My chickens have had access to the outdoors all winter I covered a section of their run to keep the snow out. We have had long stretches of below zero weather and everybody seems to have faired well. One rooster had some frostbite but has recovered without any interference from me.
This is the time of year when we're warmer than most of the cold states Outside... it's 29°F right now, and yesterday we got up to 38°F and started to thaw. We were warmer than parts of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming (where family/friends are).
It's not spring here until I start seeing leaves budding on the cottonwoods.
We just had 15 inches of snow in the last week!!! What's with this weird weather?!!
It usually starts melting in the middle of February so I can get a full tan by the middle of May!
(I know, I put my order in late this year for sunny weather, so we finally got some sunshine today-wow! Was that nice!!! 50 F. on the deck today!!
I know, you want to know just what I'm complaining about, right?!! Now we have all this snow that needs to disappear!! (don't worry, hubby out tricked the weatherman-he started pushing the snow to other parts unknown so that we don't have a real mess come spring break up!!
(Just don't tell the neighbors!!)
Well, it came close to their property, but not on it!! Now it looks like it should look in the middle of March, way less snow, but it looks like we're surrounded by a moat!!
