Tricky... horses even mini ones will walk it down quick.. you would have to heavily rotate to keep it from becoming dirt.

I vote alpacas, i know you said mini, but they are sort of mini llamas, they dont need alot of grazing room, they do need to be sheered and have their feet trimmed, but they have softer feet than horses, cows etc.... and love grass, and they dont tend to overgraze, i use my alpacas to trim my lawn, they also have communal poo piles so it is easier to clean up after them, only one place to scoop
