If processing of animals is wrong then I agree. But for instance when growing frankenchickens there is really no other use for them other than meat and the folks that do that should not be burdened with silly space requirements and the such. They should be given incentives to recycle waste not ultimatums or do it or else tactics.. Admonishments go down easier than hard rules.
If it were not for mass production we would still be an undeveloped nation using most of our resources for sustenance like the other countries that do not waste as much as you described. We may waste more but we also produce more, our GDP is larger than most countries combined especially for our land mass. On another note those other countries or at least most have a lower regard for human life as seen on the news.
Quote:
When I process fish for fillets, 50% of the quality meat is discarded. When same fish are processed for consumption on the round nearly 80% of quality meat is available for consumption. When entire, or nealry entire fish such with smelt, then all or most can be consumed. If offal / waste has to be converted to animal feed then much of that waste is energy lost, not consumed by humans. The more waste, the more animals must be processed for a given level of human consumption.
