Living life on the edge (of the incubator) hatch-a-long

@2ndTink what mat do you put in during lockdown? Also, whats your favorite incubator you've used so far?
Here's a photo of the mat.

Alright, I got up early on this lovely Saturday morning, it's 42 degrees out and overcast after being 74 yesterday. I prepped Odoban at the 5 oz per gallon ratio in a container and also prepped a basin of water to dip and gently clean off any extra dirty eggs. Clean eggs went straight from the carton to the Odoban baptismal dish, the shipped eggs got a dip and set in another sanitized carton to rest for the 60 seconds, my eggs got the full 60 second Odoban baptism (away you filth!), a quick rinse, a dab on the bottom on a paper towel and set in another sanitized tray lined with paper towels to await their journey to the basement.

Eggs are set in the Brinsea, the shipped eggs are in cardboard trays (sprayed with Odoban and dried) so they won't be turning, but the other eggs will be.

Both the Brinsea and the NR360 are over filled, I'm going between firing up the second NR360 and spreading the eggs out, or just letting them ride until next weekend when I know I'll likely have a good number of clears to remove. I'm open to opinions! I do have the two spots in the NR360, if there aren't any eggs I want to add from the coops this AM I'll move some eggs into those spots. The eggs in the middle of the NR360 are the oldest silkie eggs.

I'll have to turn the ones riding the carousel by hand for the week...

And, if you think you're seeing more eggs here than what I have listed, you are right! I have the dozen + older / laid in the cold eggs from my silkies and additional "Random Bantam" eggs. Once I check them, if they are developing, I'll add them to our list! I have not counted the eggs and I'm not sure I want to, because, YIKES, there are a lot 😳

Ooh, Wisteria, that's perfect!

It's so hard to not pop eggies into the incubator. I mean, it's just sitting there, all cold and sad looking, it is so much happier with eggs all cozy and rocking back and forth in it. For the sake of the incubator, it "needs" eggies in it!

But, lieu of a cozy incubator, hatch-a-longs are great!
Then do it !! Go forth and put eggs in the incubator! Go Eggies!! :love let NO incubator sit idle! :D
