Not at all. He only humors me by letting me keep my 3 “freeloaders” since no one lays now and only 2 will lay when the days get longer. He’s waiting for someone to lay a golden egg…

You are lucky! I can't complain though, he does have a soft spot for animals, he's wanting to get hogs, goats, and a mini donkey. We don't have the space ready for them, yet... oh, and emu's oh and pheasants.

I built an incubator for under a dollar. I hatched my first chick in a shoe box with a 15 watt bulb. Only had one egg but it did hatch. Without knowing about humidity needs and actual heat needs I did pretty good for a kid in grade school.
