Living up to their descriptions?

I’ve had two buff Orpingtons over the years (currently have one left), and they both were/are the most skittish/least personable birds I’ve ever had. You can’t even make subtle movements around them without them freaking out and flying away. Won’t be bringing any more of them home.

Aww, that's too bad. I love my BO's, total sweethearts. Maybe they were just bad eggs?

I have 2 Buff Orpingtons that are anything but the friendly “golden retriever” of chickens they are said to be. One goes out of her way to peck me to the point where it leaves bruises if I don’t have long pants and closed toe shoes. They hate to be held or even touched.

Our EE and our Sexlinks are the friendly ones. They follow us around and clamor for treats or attention. Our Gold Sexlink “BBQ” is my daughter swinging companion. We have one of those large round disc tree swings that you can lay down on. BBQ almost always falls asleep on my daughter’s chest while they swing.

Oh man! I'm sorry about your BO's, I've never had a chicken do that. Aww, how sweet! BBQ sounds like a sweetheart :)
