Living With a roo

I live in a close neighborhood and ended up with a red Bantam Cochin Frizzle roo! (I'm 80% sure it's a rooster) I don't want to loose Punk'in or eat the poor thing! Can anyone give me some tips on living with a rooster especially a bantam. I assume they are not as loud as a full size roo. Anything helps thx!

I’ve heard of people bringing them in at night so the neighbors don’t hear them crow in the morning. Tried that with my silkie roo Martin. My a**hole neighbors still complained.

Saw your other post...He is a Cockerel and won't be a Rooster till he is over 1 year..No one can tell you how he will turn out?...Rehome him so he has a chance at a normal life.....

I agree with @chickens really. If your neighbors are the kind who will give you problems no matter how accommodating you try to be (like mine did) then the best thing is to find a friend who will take him from you.

Best bet then is to rehome him before you get too attached. I cried all 2 of 3 times I had to rehome my roosters.

Dirty?....Are the nest boxes clean and are the birds butts dirty?

Yea if he crows I have a barn to take him to temporarily but its crummy and dirty with 15 other chickens I want to find him the best home with lots of free range time. anyone looking for a pretty bird in MI
