Lizzie eating EVERYTHING!!!

Whenever I try to put something in the nest box as bedding (eggs have cracked on the wood floor ), Lizzie eats it! I've tried wood chips, sand, and dried grass, but she eats them as soon as she can get to them! I'm afraid that she'll just eat straw if I put that in the nest boxes. What can I put in there that she won't eat? Or what can I put in the nest boxes that will stop her from eating it? Maybe something.... Spicy? No, birds can't taste spicy.... It would work if she could taste it!

I have large leek tops that she might not be able to eat. Could I dry them and use them as nest box material?

Goodness! That is very odd behaviour indeed! What about old towels?

Try padded shelf liner.

I used old towels with my ducklings because they ate everything else. Happily, they grew out of it.

OK, I'll try the old towels! I can't believe that I didn't think of that... And I can wash and reuse them, too!
