Llife span of Seramas

Hi everyone, I was just wondering how long a life span Serama chickens have and are there any bantum breeds that have a long life span? Thank you.

The little type A's don't live very long, but the bigger ones can live for 8 or 9 years. OEGB's can live 15+ years.

i thought they would be like dogs... the bigger the dog, the shorter it's life span... the smaller, the longer it will live... something about heart not working that hard on a small animal...

Thank you both for your reply. I just didn't want to get some Seramas and get attatched to them, if they have a short life span. Eight years is good, thought it might be 2 or 3 years. Again thank you for your quick response.

Just wanted to post that one of my Seramas lived to just after her 5th birthday, and my other is still very healthy and happy at age 7.

Granted this is a older thread, I lost mine at 3 years. I think it was due to heart issue based on symptoms. It was a great bird that was a pet vs my other "regular" hens that lived in the coop for eggs.

What were the symptoms that you saw. I’m lost one at four years and now another isn’t looking great and he is only 3.
