I teach High school agricultural science and since we cant have larger animals at the school I have an area behind my classroom that i will be building several chicken coops and runs in. Since I want to raise/breed chickens onsite...I figured why not go big....So today I added 12 Crested Cream Legbar eggs, 15 Black copper Marans eggs, 12 Welsummer eggs, 12 Gold laced Blue Wyandotte eggs to my cabinet style incubator.I cant wait till they hatch.

Those really are beauties! Your students are so lucky and I commend your school for allowing you to have the coops/runs and chickens for your students to learn with.

Our rooster keeps trying VERY HARD but none of our hens (our egg producers) are going broody. We've gotten some chicks from the local feed store and they're almost ready to move into the coop (meat flock starters). I found your post because I'm looking for information on not-to-expensive home incubators.

Good luck with your hatching!!
