A couple of misc questions....

Does anyone know of a vet in the Medina Ohio area that handles the care of chickens?

We want to seal up a couple of small spaces in our coop to make sure there are no drafts. Does anyone know if "GreatStuff" will harm the birds? That's provided, the birds can fit into the spaces and want to peck at the insulation.

Is it ok to use a heat lamp at night to keep the chickens warm? I ask because I don't know if the light will bother them while they sleep.

Is "GreatStuff" that expanding foam? I haven't used that around my birds, but I do know that chickens will eat that pink and blue board insulation board, and in great amounts! I'm not sure if they are made out of similar things or not...
Several years ago I came home to find my chickens in the back shed, and they had eaten a HUGE amount of the pink board. I was sure they were going to die some horrible death, but they never ailed a bit from it. Their poop wasn't even pink, which I was sure it would be!
As I recall from using that stuff in my attic, however, it had a horrible smell that was like formaldehyde (sp?). Best to be safe than sorry - I'd use it but then block their access to it with plywood or something.
