I️ thought the same for 3, but I️ think she has the wrong comb type. 6 might be, I️ was between that, JG, BA, or Black Orp.

My BA’s have usually had more white on them as babies. I think the same goes for JG’s. Black Orps aren’t very common so it’s less likely, but possible!

I just googled Black Orpingtons—I think it would have more white on it if it was, though I’m not familiar with the variety myself.

Ok so I️ looked at 3’s comb and I️ think she is a silver laced Wyandotte. #6 seems to have either a pea, rose, or double comb. The combs are so small it’s pretty hard to tell rn. I️t might be a single.

Ok I️ looked into it and I️ believe that she is a Black Sexlink. #3 passed this morning and #6 (Olive? Testing name ideas)is still going strong. She seems to have imprinted on me and will scream nonstop if I️ don’t carry her in my pocket. I️ am not sure what to do tonight, as she screams really loud and paces the cage. I️ use a brooder heater as opposed to a heat lamp and she won’t stay under it. I️ don’t want to lose her so if anyone has any advice I’ll take it with open arms!

I was just going to come in and say they don't look like they feel really good :'( I'm sorry to hear about all of the losses, is Six the only one left? I'd get 2-3 little companions for her if possible! I've never used brooder heaters, only heatlamps, either way though whats the temperature in the brooder? It's sort of a random thing to have on hand, but if you have a feedstore near you they might have a pack of 'save-a-chick' which I believe is just a sort of electrolyte mix that might help give your baby a little boost! It's been a few years since I've used save-a-chick however, anyone else in this thread used it more recently? Still a good product to use, something better? : D Good luck with your baby!!

Yes, she is the last one. The feed store doesn’t get more chicks until Wednesday, so it’s going to be a couple days. The brooder is currently a rabbit cage with pine shavings. I️ have had them on Nutri-Drench since the day I️ got them. I also have some Chick Boost power To Go In the Water that I️ might use for her. Liv really likes eating and likes to chase my finger around, the only problem is that she won’t eat or drink unless I️ am standing there watching her. I️ have had her living in the garage with a heat lamp too, but due to her being alone and a cold front coming in I️ can’t have her outside tonight.

I don't know what the safety precautions on your brooder heater are, but depending on what they are, you could put something feathery like a clean feather duster or a feather boa under the brooder heater to encourage her to snuggle into it. I wonder if anybody's made a happy chick audio track that you could play for her (I have no idea if this would calm her down--just a wild idea! ).

If you do have a heat lamp lying around and can set it up securely, she might do best under it until you can get her companions if she's refusing to go under your brooder heater. Chicks love light and she may be more attracted to it.
