Local feed store feed I found my chickens love

I would like to know this as well. I use the regular 16% most of the year when they are getting plenty of protein from crickets, grasshoppers & all kinds of bugs & such from free ranging.

When cooler weather sets in, it is molting season. From my understaning, they need more protein at this time to help grow in their feathers for wintertime. They are not laying (or at least not near as much) because they are using protein to grow in their feathers instead of laying. Also, at this same time of year, there's not as many bugs & such for them to eat.

But, I'm not sure about feeding the 22% year round if it would be too much since bugs & such from foraging would be plentiful.

DONT FEED FAITHWAY LAYER PELLETS TO YOUR HENS!!!!!! I've been feeding it to mine for a few months and it made mine quit laying out of the blue. made mine start molting and they quit laying. but it may be different for you, thats just my experience with it, not for me anymore!
