Locations for Bantams please!!

Hi guys!

I'm new to the forum. I live in a town called Glen Innes NSW Australia and I am having great difficulty locating some Bantam chickens for our farm. There is a poultry auction once a year at Stanthorpe in August 2014 but I'd like to get some soon.

I would also like to know if all Bantams can fly? I prefer it if they can for self defense here in the bush. I know the Gaolden Laced Bantam can fly they seem like th eway to go but any suggestions would be great.

As for bantams flying, I would imagine they can, however I don't keep this breed, so I can't say for sure. There will be others stopping by here to welcome you to BYC that will have the answer to this question.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! TwoCrows gave you a good link to check out for local birds! Bantam is more a size of bird, so some can fly and some can't, depends on the breed you get.

Bantams don't have much meat on them and lay small eggs - did you want them as pets or to show? The jungle breed bantams I hear are very good flyers but, other than that I know nothing about them.
