Lock Down - Here goes nothing

well the count down has gotten to 0 days left as of 8pm yesterday and no babies. guess none of them will hatch.

Well isn't that something. here it is 2 days after the eggs were suppose to hatch and I decided to leave the eggs in just for the heck of it and low and behold when I woke up this morning something told me to go check it(I checked it yesterday morning and there was nothing, didn't check it the rest of the day) and there was a baby quail in there. there has been no chirping, nothing. I think I will leave the eggs in there for today and if nothing else hatches by in the morning I will check the eggs and get rid of them. I hope everyone else has better luck then me.

Were your eggs shipped eggs? My quail were also very quiet when they hatched out.

Yes, mine were shipped, although it seems like i've had a bit better luck with mine, two of twelve so far with a third on the way out hopefully. Have you candled any of the other eggs?

I candled them, about half were doing great, veins, then dark solid mass at the 2nd candleing(when they went into lockdown) the other half never developed anything. now I just have to figure out how to keep this 1 alive since they don't do good alone
