Lock Down - Here goes nothing

I have more that hatched, we had to help it along cause it was starting to get dried out. it won't stand it just flops around. not sure what I am gonna do. it is about half the size as the others and it still has a wet look but it is dry. keeping my fingers crossed that it makes it. I am gonna try everything to keep it alive

Yeah, I have a couple of runts.. I will separate them and see how they get on. I am the same as you, ie if it gets out of the egg it deserves a chance.

Went in this morning to turn off the incubator (day 20! I know, but sure), and believe it or not, a wee button hatched! Madness!
The runts dried out, and they are a bit smaller, but seem to be grand now and are in with the others.
The rest of the eggs are gonners though, with 30/36 JapCos and 8/12 KingCos hatched.. not a bad show with a £40 incubator that has auto turning etc

Well we have had no more chicks hatch, 2 pipped the outside but never made it. We (DH and me) are going to look at the eggs today. so out of 50 eggs 4 hatched(1 died) so we have 3 baby bobwhites. I am thinking of getting some more but not sure if hubby will let me or not. there are several factors why I think I had low hatch rate, but I won't bore you with that. just something I need to fix.

I think you should start a new thread, posting ALL of the steps you took, and see if others could help in adjusting your incubation routine.

I had three eggs sitting under a broody button hen that I was sure weren't going to hatch (I don't remember the exact date she started sitting on them but its been a pretty long time) so when I got home today I was going to candle them to see how things were going and to my surprise there were two babies snuggled up under her! Totally unexpected but adorable!
