Lock down question

When you go on lock down do you keep the egg in the carton or do you lay them on their sides?
Also I have a metal basket that I was thinking of putting over the bulb would that be acceptable so they can't touch the light?

Set them in the bator tonight so we've started count down. Looks like we have a 25th hatch date.

You can keep the eggs in the carton if you'd like it helps to keep the chicks that hatched from knocking the other eggs around. I'm not sure about the metal basket I would think that would get hot.

Home made bator. It is a wooden crate lined with foil and has a light bulb in it.

I lay mine on their sides. IMO it is closer to how nature intended, make sure they can't get near the bulb. Good luck and great hatching vibes for you.
